Las Vegas, Nevada

Having moved here two years ago from the East Coast, I have to say that this town is the armpit of America. I only moved here because a friend of my fiancee got him a job here, and it turns out that my stupid fiancee didn't ask them how much they paid, and consequently is being grossly underpaid. Just great.

It is hotter here in the summer than I thought was humanly possible to survive. There is dust everywhere, and the morning weather report gives a "Smog Rating". What the hell is "Smog"? Everyone makes fun of places like NJ and NY, but at least we can breathe there!

And when someone tells you the cost of living is lower, don't believe it. Yeah, if you want to live in the ghetto with a bunch of criminals and illegals, and have your car stolen, sure, you can live more cheaply. If you want to have the same standard of living you had when living in a REAL state (not a Red state full of immigrants and rednecks), don't plan on moving here.

The jobs are almost all blue collar service jobs. There's nothing wrong with a blue collar job, it's just that I worked from the time I was 18 in a white collar management job making really good money, and have a college education, so I'm not thrilled about the idea of taking a job for less than half the money, and having to report to some GED-educated loser who makes fun of my "accent". Um, I don't have an accent, clown. YOU just don't know how to speak English. N-E-V-A-D-A isn't pronounced "Neh VAAA Duh", I don't care how many locals say it that way. You are uneducated fools who deserve to live in this dustbowl. I can't wait to get the hell out of this place.
