I brought my car into a Tire Kingdom location in Louisiana for an oil change. The manager told me it was going to be an hour. I walked to the local Hooters...which was about 2 blocks away and had lunch. I walked back and about 1 block from Tire Kingdom I saw someone in my car coming up a one lane street onto a four lane boulevard. The driver didn't stop for the stop sign and took the turn doing about 40 mph. The whole back of my car swung around and the tires squealed. When I got to the Tire Kingdom I bitched to the manager and he assured me that everything was fine and that I should check my car for damages. A lot of my shit inside the car was thrown about and my left front fender was wrecked. I have a brand new car and now it's wrecked. I'm suing them because now they are refusing to pay for the damages. I'm going to bomb that place!!!
NAPA Auto Parts has to be the biggest good 'ol boy company ever to stain the planet. If these guys tried any harder, they could make a sequel to "Deliverance" with their cast of management caring the banjo's with no hair or teeth. I tried to call on these clowns years ago in my job, and man did they ever miss an opportunity to get the best out of me. In fact, what they gained was the very worst out of me. They wanted to treat every rep that called on them like a bitch just because they could get away with it. I think they called it their style of managing people! Totally stuck in the 50's with racisms, and good old southern redneck jerks running the place. best day of my life was when I quit my job calling on them with a company who was just as bad. I guess it runs in the family. Today I am making three times the amount then, and happier than ever. It's great to finally be with a company who respects you for your efforts, and pays you for it. My advise to anyone out there who deals with NAPA Auto Parts. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! These guys are cancer.
I am so pissed today. My brakes had been squealing, so I took my car back to the place where I had the brake work done 3 months ago (it was under warranty, and I later found out that I was overcharged by some $200). I show the mechanic my receipt and he tries to tell me, "You didn't have that work done here, you had it done at [reads off my home address]." You moron! That is the customer information. When I come back to pick up the car, the mechanic tells me nothing was wrong with the brakes, and came up with a bunch of BS explanations and kept repeating this mindless drivel, as if I didn't understand the first time. After I got home, I noticed that the front right hubcap was missing, so I went back and confronted him about it. He said it was like that when I brought it in. LIAR! So that auto shop ripped me off, tried to play me for a fool, didn't fulfill their end of the warranty and stole my hubcap and lied about it! F***ing crooks!!!
Look, I know replacing the brakes on an old car is going to be expensive, but $800??????? Seriously???? And when I tell you I want to compare prices, you get condescending and rude with me? OK, I was stupid not to just take it to my regular mechanic in the first place, but why take advantage of my stupidity instead of treating me like an intelligent human being?
Firestone is the absolute epitome of a bad auto repair shop. Doesn't matter what state you're in, doesn't matter who the manager is or what you go there for, they seem to attract crooks and con-artists like moths to a flame.
I realize it's all flat rate and that already guarantees you a rip off job, but these people are utterly ridiculous. I've watched these assholes up-sell services and parts that customers didn't need, all day long, while I waited in the lobby.
I know enough to politely decline or claim I can't afford these up-sell attempts and not get on their bad side by calling bullshit (they have my car, after all, and I want it fixed and not fucked with), but I feel bad for the ignorant masses who have no clue they're being raped.
Case in point, at our local facility, I've watched the heroic manager, Dan, up-selling to a poor, walker-ridden woman in her 70s (at least) who was on oxygen at the time. No, I'm not making that up. I've also watched him up-sell, or try, to every single customer that set foot in the door the two times I've been there (not by choice).
What really grinds my gears is that he has awards literally littering the entire wall in there. He apparently goes above and beyond and looks out for the customer. The real truth is that the customer gets raped and thinks that someone is suggesting extra service for their benefit, when really it's to pad the bottom line every month. Of course making extra money for the franchise is what *really* gets him those awards.
I swear though, nothing I've ever had done there was done properly. Absolutely none of it. I've actually gone so far as to lose money paying for work somewhere else instead of taking it back to Firestone for what should be under warranty. I hate them *that* fucking much.
I really don't know how the system works internally and why they attract such a high number of crooked mechanics, far more so than the average shop, but whatever the reason, they should be avoided like the fucking plague.
Fuck you Firestone, and especially that cock sucking piece of shit manager Dan. You're a crooked, unethical piece of human garbage and I hope you get what's coming to you, you fucking asshole.
This greedy, horrible company treats all its workers like shit. No overtime is allowed and you get in trouble by the DM for going even 5 minutes over your 40 hour work week. The raises are like 10 cents a year if you get one at all, and the stores are understaffed because they're too damn cheap to hire people! They've taken away earning extra money from selling certain items. Working there eats away at your soul. The only break you will get is a smoke break if you smoke, and even then, it better be quick. You get so tired working there all day, forget having a life. This is the worst company to work for!
